Participants who have signed up for the Gravel Scramble 2009 are entitled to a $5 discount if they participate in this year's competitive run. Please kindly keep a proof of payment and we will contact you about the $5 refund.

Fun Run route

The route for Fun Run is as follows:

Competitive Running Route

This is the route for the competitive run. As shown in the diagram below, the route consists of two and a half laps. Road marshals will be stationed around the route to direct the runners.

Rules and Regulations

Please read the run rules stated below carefully.


1. GENERAL

1.1 The Event Organisers have the final authority to remove any Participant from the run if the Participant is judged to be physically incapable of continuing the run without risk of serious injury to themselves or others. Medical transport of any participant will result in disqualification.

1.2 By signing up for the Event and providing any information, personal or otherwise, the Participant is deemed to have given written permission for the Event Organisers to collect, analyse, collate, share, disclose to third parties, sell and/or otherwise use without any liability to the Participant any personal information relating to the Participant as the Event Organisers in their sole and absolute discretion deem fit.

1.3 The Event Organisers reserve the right to use any photographs (including those of Participants), motion pictures, recordings, or any other media records of the Event, for any legitimate purpose, including commercial advertising.

1.4 The Event Organisers reserve the right to amend the rules and regulations without prior notification to ensure safety for all Participants of the Event.

1.5 The Event Organisers reserve the right to cancel the event and/or close any category due to unforeseen circumstances.



2. REGISTRATION CRITERIA

2.1 Participants of the Competitive Division must be 15 years or above on the day of the Event.

2.2 Participants below the age of 18 (of either the Competitive or the Non-Competitive Division) must seek parental or guardian consent and fill up the relevant indemnity declaration forms as deemed necessary by the Event Organisers upon registration. Failure to comply may result in disqualification.

2.3 Registration is to be done using the Official Registration Form, available at Yuhua Community Club, or online via the Waterfront Scramble Blog (http://www.waterfrontscramble.blogspot.com/).

2.4 Incomplete registration forms will not be accepted.

2.5 Onsite or late registrations will not be entertained.

2.6 Run category and run entry are strictly non-transferable.

2.7 Completion of the Official Registration Form confirms the Participant’s agreement to abide by the rules and regulations of this Event, as stated herein.

2.8 Collection of Race Kits and Fun Packs will be from 9.00 a.m. to 11.30 p.m. on the day of the Event. In case of wet weather, the collection can be done at Yuhua Community Club within one week from the day of the Event. Race Kits and Fun Packs are of limited quantity and the Event Organisers do not guarantee that all Participants will eventually receive their Race Kits or Fun Packs.

2.9 Participants who feel unwell during the run should stop and seek instantaneous medical attention at designated medical posts.

2.10 Participants must run on the designated path for the entire route. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

2.11 Once registration has been duly processed, there will be no refund of registration fees for Participants who do not eventually take part in the Event for whatever reason.

2.12 There will be no refund of registration fees if the Event is cancelled for whatever reason.

2.13 Participants who commence running before the actual start time of the run signed up for will be disqualified.

2.14 Communication or entertainment devices of any type are strictly prohibited during the run and use of such devices may result in disqualification.

2.15 Pets, bicycles, in-line skates, prams, push carts, shoes with built-in or attached rollers and any other wheel-run objects are strictly prohibited during the run.

2.16 The closing date for registration is 20 July 2010, Tuesday.

2.17 The Event Organisers reserve the right to close registration before the said closing date once participation reaches its maximum capacity.

2.18 The Event Organisers reserve the right to limit and/or refuse registrations without giving any reason.



3. RUN FOR COMPETITIVE DIVISION

3.1 Latecomers may be disqualified from the Competitive Division run.

3.2 No form of locomotion other than running, walking or crawling is permitted.

3.3 Shoes and a top that covers the upper torso must be worn at all times during the run.

3.4 Participants must prominently display their bib at all times during the run on the front of their shirts.

3.5 Participants who discard equipment, such as clothing, anywhere on the run route except at the Water Stations will be disqualified.

3.6 Participants who intend to withdraw from the run at any time should report to the Registration Booth and turn in his bib.

3.7 Participants must not accept, except from the Event Organisers, any form of external assistance (food, drink, clothing, equipment) from anyone. Failure to comply may result in disqualification. Pacing by non-contestant runners is deemed to be external assistance and will result in disqualification. Non-contestant runners include Participants of the Competitive Division who have withdrawn from the run, have been disqualified or have finished the run.

3.8 Participants must not leave items along the run route for collection during the run. Failure to comply may result in disqualification.

3.9 The Event Organisers will not be responsible for any inaccuracy in Participants’ run timings.



4. RULE INFRINGEMENTS

The Event Organisers will be proactive in ensuring that Participants compete within the rules and regulations, and may issue an infringement notice with or without prior warnings. Participants issued with an infringement notice must report to the Registration Booth immediately.
